When hanging pictures and fixtures, don't break a "nail!" Grab a comb out of your drawer to hold your nail into place while you hammer away.
When painting with a roller and paint tray, use a large plastic bag to cover the entire paint tray. Pour the paint in the tray over the plastic bag. When you are complete, you just turn the bag inside out and throw the mess away.
If you have wood floors, put felt pads on the bottom of your furniture. When you want to move them or adjust them later, you won't ruin or scratch your hardwood floors.
